Crescent Foundry is a manufacturer of grey and ductile iron castings, fabricated steel and plastic products with an annual capacity of 30,000 tons and their products are exported to USA, Canada, France, Italy, UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE, Oman, Kuwait and Qatar. Established in 1980, the 30 year old setup had been recently taken over by the new generation, and was willing to improve its energy performance and socio-environmental impact.

An energy audit is a preliminary activity towards instituting energy efficiency programs in an establishment. The energy audit of the facility and the recommendations to improve the efficiency will result in 6% energy saving.

An in depth study of the air quality and working environment of the foundry has been carried out and recommendations have been given to improve the foundry environment. The implementation of recommended measures for the improvement of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) for enhancement of workers’ comfort level and performance has been undertaken.
